Here Are All the Places You Can Find Beyond Sausage

Beyond Meat caused quite a stir when it announced its newest product—Beyond Sausage—late last year. And since February, the company has rolled out its brand-new vegan sausage at select restaurants in major cities.

On February 15, Schaller’s Stube Sausage Bar, a New York City establishment known for its meat-heavy fare, made headlines for being the first place to offer Beyond Sausage. Shortly after, the sausage showed up on the West Coast, where it is offered at select Veggie Grill locations, at Wurstküche in Los Angeles, and at Rosamunde Sausage Grill in San Francisco and Oakland.

Since then, Yankee Stadium has begun offering Beyond Sausage at the Bareburger stand, making it the first stadium to offer the amazing new product. And on April 4, the sausage landed at its first Midwest location—The Moonlighter bar in Chicago!

Mickey Neely, the executive chef at The Moonlighter, explains:

Given how great Beyond Meat products taste and the overwhelming positive feedback we’ve gotten from The Beyond Burger, adding Beyond Sausage was a no brainer. As the sausage capital of the U.S., we’re excited to put our own unique twist on the sausage.

We can’t wait to see where it turns up next!

While there are lots of vegan sausages on the market, Beyond Sausage sets itself apart from competitors with its casing made from alginate. The new product is available in three flavors—bratwurst, sweet Italian, and hot Italian—and one Beyond Sausage link has 14 percent more protein (16 grams per link!), 26 percent less sodium, and 38 percent less saturated fat than its animal-based counterpart. Plus, it’s free of soy, gluten, and genetically modified ingredients!

As more people become aware of the egregious animal cruelty and vast environmental destruction involved in meat production, the popularity of delicious vegan meat alternatives continues to rise. In fact, plant-based proteins are poised to take a third of the protein market by 2054!
