TGI Fridays Will Roll Out Beyond Burger to Nearly 500 Locations
Starting early next year, casual chain restaurant TGI Fridays will offer the acclaimed Beyond Burger from Beyond Meat at its more than 465 locations nationwide—in the burger bar!
In case you missed it, the Beyond Burger took the country by storm this year. Loaded with 20 grams of protein and free of soy and gluten, this burger has the look, smell, and taste of meat. It even “bleeds” pulverized beet juice.
Fast Company explains:
Since its launch in May 2016, the Beyond Burger has become the most successful item on Beyond Meat’s roster, thanks to the company’s efforts to get the vegan burger placed in grocery store meat cases alongside ground beef. In the past year, Beyond Meat has partnered with major grocers and distributors including Safeway, Kroger, and Sysco to get its frozen products into 12,000 stores (the burger is currently in 3,500 outlets).
While this exciting menu item will roll out nationwide in January, there are already vegan offerings on TGI Fridays’ menu. Here are a few of our go-tos:
Pasta With Marinara
Penne pasta served with traditional marinara is pretty basic but will do in a pinch. Add some garlic, steamed spinach, or basil to take this dish up a level.
Black Bean and Avocado Burger
By far your best option, this delicious spicy black bean burger is served with lettuce, tomato, avocado, and cola onions. Just be sure to hold the cheese and mayo!
Customize some tasty loaded vegan nachos! This dish comes with pickled jalapeños, pico de gallo, and cilantro. Skip the chicken and cheese and add green onion, red peppers, corn, and guacamole.
Angel Hair Pasta
Create your own pasta dish dressed with garlic and olive oil. Just add spinach, mushrooms, tomatoes, and more!
*Since menu items may vary by location, be sure to let your server know that you’re vegan to ensure no animal products are used!
